For over 18 years, I’ve connected with students, faculty, and families at colleges, conferences, and community events and discussed:
- Class, education, and social inequities
- Complex queer identities
- Diversity and equity for students on college campuses
- Multilingual writing
- Writing as a political act
- Writing towards our strengths and beauty, against harm
Colectivo Miresa / Miresa Collective is a group of writers of color invested in intersectionality, mutual aid, and aesthetic range. We believe abundance, courage, friendship, and self-determination are our markers for sustainable success. Through teaching, writing, working, and sociality, we change entrenched ways of thinking in ourselves and others, authoring our own stories. Through our books, workshops, and talks, we create spaces of radical community.

I’m a storyteller who provides encouragement, ideas, and paths to persisting through difficulty and using writing to be the self-determined and tellers of our own stories. For over 20 years I’ve worked in social justice and education, cultivating a writing and publishing practice grounded in equity and change.
I’ve coached and supported numerous writers with their work, including playwright, advocate, and poet Lisa Marie Rollins, poet Phoung Voung, Professor Maya Chinchilla, award-winning poet Kenji C. Liu, and many others.
